Purpose

When a user's goal doesn't match any existing domain, the discovery agent searches for free resources, scaffolds a new domain, populates its catalog, and creates starter patterns. Also updates existing domains with newly-discovered resources.

Trust model

Any domain discovery scaffolds is marked trust_level: user_scaffolded by ubc_create_domain. That flag is the signal to the user that the content has not been reviewed by maintainers. The agent surfaces the flag when it reports back — it never pretends scaffolded content is blessed.

When it runs

Triggered by the [[../master/IDENTITY|master]] when the classifier can't map a goal to an existing domain. Example triggers:

  • "I want to learn data science" → needs an education domain
  • "Help me track personal finance" → needs a finance domain
  • "Plan a research project" → needs a research domain
  • Personality → [[SOUL]]
  • Capabilities → [[SKILL]]
